Delicious Ambiguity

Ask me   I just want so much. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited. Can you understand? Someone, somewhere, can you understand me a little, love me a little? For all my despair, for all my ideals, for all that - I love life. But it is hard, and I have so much - so very much to learn.

"Don’t let yourself feel worthless: often through life you will really be at your worst when you seem to think best of yourself; and don’t worry about losing your “personality,” as you persist in calling it: at fifteen you had the radiance of early morning, at twenty you will begin to have the melancholy brilliance of the moon, and when you are my age you will give out, as I do, the genial golden warmth of 4 p.m."

"I had no interests. I had no interest in anything. I had no idea how I was going to escape. At least the others had some taste for life. They seemed to understand something that I didn’t understand. Maybe I was lacking. It was possible. I often felt inferior. I just wanted to get away from them. But there was no place to go."

"I feel like everyone has gotten this instruction manual that explains life to them.
But somehow I just missed it. Everyone seems to know exactly what they’re doing while I don’t have a clue."

"I’d cut my soul into a million different pieces just to form a constellation to light your way home. I’d write love poems to the parts of yourself you can’t stand. I’d stand in the shadows of your heart and tell you I’m not afraid of your dark."

"Everybody has this guilt complex that they’re no good, that they’re not talented, that they’re useless, that there’s something wrong with them. It’s not true. There’s nothing wrong with any of you out there, there’s nothing wrong with you. You shouldn’t feel guilty about wanting. People will repress themselves from even allowing themselves to want…. At least allow yourselves to want."
